Urbanity

Urbanity is a book about Detroit. The goal of the project was to identify a socially signifigant problem in Detroit, and then present a possible solution. This book presents ways to improve the city in three ways: Transportation, Landscapes and Gardens, and Reclaiming Buildings. Sometimes serious, sometimes lighthearted, and adequately researched, the content was an excuse to explore the creation of visual systems in book desing.

The sections of the book are colored according to their topic by a vertical bar on the outer edge of the left page. The section on abandoned buildings is the brick red you will find all over the city. Working on this book taught me the difficulties of working in teams, as well as how consistent systematization can help present content without getting in it's way.
